About The Conference

The Global Alliance for Mental Health and Sport (GAMeS), in collaboration with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists (CoSEP) are proud to present the first, dedicated international conference for mental health and sport. The GAMeS International Conference for Mental Health and Sport will provide a forum for the presentation of innovative research and policy initiatives, and facilitate connections between researchers, sporting practitioners, and government partners from around the world. In addition to two keynote presentations by world-leading experts in the field of mental health and sport, the conference is expected to feature over 50 oral presentations, case studies, rapid communications, and symposia. The 2022 GAMeS International Conference for Mental Health and Sport will be held in the picturesque coastal city of Wollongong, Australia – only 1 hour south of Sydney. With an average November temperature of a sunny 25°C (77°F), Wollongong offers the quintessential Australian summer experience, with quick access to 17 patrolled beaches, scenic rock pools, and breathtaking lookout points. The recent removal of international travel restrictions means it’s easier than ever to travel to beautiful Australia.

The College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists are an affiliate of the Australian Psychological Society. Athletes from all areas of sport come to us to help them with issues such as burnout, performance issues and injury management. As sport and exercise psychologists, we help with issues such as performance enhancement and mental skill development, anxiety and stress management, mental focus, team building and leadership, health and wellness, communication and conflict resolution, and more.
